We don’t have a savior that is unable to empathize with us, but Jesus felt our human emotions (Hebrews 4:15). Not only that, but he came so that by the Spirit we might abide in Him and He in us (John 15:4). He wants us to feel His emotions, and He wants to intimately know ours. To have and practice empathy is to imitate one of the central attributes of our Teacher, Jesus.
