Boris's plays ball like a robot ... His skills aren't quite like the others, but he doesn't want to hurt his friends by telling them he doesn't want to play. In this lesson Dave and Boris explore brave communication and model how to be true to yourself in situations when it is more difficult to do so. In this episode Dave and Boris teach principles which provide the framework and foundation for consent training taught in the higher grades.

This lesson cross references the SEL Core Competency: 'Relationship-Skills.' This lesson is all about communicating effectively and with bravery - speaking up about one's truth. It teaches children to skillfully navigate difficult social situations by giving them tools to stand up to social pressure and express what's going on inside them. The lesson shows children how to remain authentic in diverse social environments.
