Biblical Insight:
In Romans 7 Paul talks about a life under sin. He says “I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do” (Romans 7:18-19). Paul is stuck. A few verses later he gives us the good news: “there is now no condemnation” because the Spirit has given us a life of freedom from sin (Romans 8:1-2). Where as before Paul wasn’t able to control his evil actions, now if anger or jealousy comes upon him he has the ability to control those things! We now have the ability to find strategies of controlling our anger.
